Well, thanks a LOT for that, JK. I did mention a few days ago that I'm just recovering from a double cataract operation, and a careless glance at the above illustration caused an abrupt transition into an unstable visual mode, resulting in a spatially unbalanced postural event (officially referred to in British medical textbooks as "falling arse over tit").
But I suppose I should be pleased that the optical illusion itself didn't puzzle me unduly. I tumbled to it straight away.
