Heros ... all of them.
Yes indeed, not everyone thinks these brave men & women were "losers & suckers" and/or non-heroes or are worried about getting their hair wet to honor their graves & pay respect.
This veteran says “thank you” to all who gave their lives for our freedom! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

- There's Armed Forces Day ...to honor those still in uniform.
- There's Veteran's Day ....to honor those who used to wear the uniform.
- There's Memorial Day ....... to honor those who never made it out of uniform.
Mike, Chris, Terry:
I volunteer with a group of folks who place flags at the headstones of former members of the military who are buried in our rather large town cemetery. We go in a week before Memorial Day, then remove them the week after. We do it again each Veterans Day. While the group of organizers is small, it requires about a hundred people who go to designated sections of the cemetery, read each headstone, place a flag at the ones who display service to our country, and then spend a moment of silence in thanks for their service. It's always moving to see so many people show up. We get veterans (some of them using walkers), families, public service groups, retired folks, the Boy Scouts, and more. We even have a group of bikers come in. They are all veterans. As a group, they stop at each marked grave and pray. Then they, in unison, salute and move on.
You may have similar groups in your towns. They usually work with the American Legion. It's a worthwhile effort and a way to honor those who have protected our freedom. The project is known as "Flags In" and "Flags Out."
Here's Kelly helping to hand out the flags to our groups
The woman in the white blouse pulls it all together
I do the orientation/distribution talk
We place 400 or so flags. The process takes about 5 hours.
We get several community groups

That is FANTASTIC John! Thank you to all for the kindness and gratitude to service members!
@terryslekar This veteran also says thanks to those who gave all for this blessed country of ours. Too bad that kids are not being taught history in our schools as they will never know what true sacrifice is all about. Many are protesting in collage today without a clue what they are protesting and taking for granted the lifestyle they take for granted.

I agree wholeheartedly. The education system has been highjacked by THOSE individuals and must change. I'll say no more as I appreciate and respect the need to minimize political opinion on this site.
That is a beautiful and extremely valuable gesture performed by your group John and of course one that is so very well deserved.
