Oh but I am. I'm an old, worn out oak. Roots firmly planted deep, limbs sadly bent and aged. My leaves have turned to silver and my health has withered with time.
You can move a sapling with tender love and care but to move this decrepit, ancient oak is too impossible a task.
I shall live out the remaining months of my blooming life right here in this spot; among the elms, maples and poplars - for I'm a tired and old, old oak. Yawn.
@perrone1 Tony, this doesn't sound like you! I recommend you jump into your Mercedes sports car, go for a nice top down drive in the countryside, stop at a favorite restaurant for lunch, then have a couple of your legendary martonys when you get back home. All will be well!
Having said all of this, from what I know of your area, I would be happy to live out the remainder there too!
Good advice David. I did just that when I retired and man, what a positive difference it made!
Excellent advice! With a couple modifications. I'll step gingerly into the Benz SL. My jumping days are in the rearview, HA! Top up since rain is looming in dem dar hills! Its not "Burger Day" at the Smoky Mountain Brewery so it won't be crowed and we can get 'our' table. Bar manager, Angel, has my martoonie recipe memorized so one of those is definitely indicated. And this is the weekend, once home, designated for the three "Lord of the Rings" movies. I smell marathon "Skinny Girl" popcorn (The Shirlmeister's fave) and some Corona Non-Alcoholic brewski's!! Wooo, I felt my roots tingle!!@perrone1 Tony, this doesn't sound like you! Now you're talking my friend. For a minute I thought we would have to muster a motley crew and descend upon you to reignite the spark that you are known for. Glad to know your roots are tingling again.
Glad to hear you're not kindling wood, Tony. That being said, I am not a tree either. But, I have a hazy recollection of one night in college thinking I was. My leaves were quite pretty!
