Although my lady wife and I will mainly be sticking to our normal porridge and beetroot diet over the holiday, we may well be tempted to sample some seasonal fare. Just to enter into the spirit of things.
But moderation in all things remains the guiding principle. (In theory, at least).
Now that's the spirits! I mean that's the spirt. A mean figgy pudding and a blast of the old Macallan! Who needs more than that. So honored to wish you, Graeme, and the Mrs. Lady Wife, a Very Merry and Blessed Christmas!
Don't be sucked in to believing that Scrooge is an evil, bah Humbug of a man who hates Christmas. If you'll recall the story, he comes to treat everyone around him with kindness and generosity, and becomes a second father to Tim, who recovers and does not die, embodying the Christmas spirit all the year through.
@frank The MAGIC was not in that hat; it was in his head. That's one of the greatest musicians who's ever lived! Millions have heard him on countless songs. 😎 😎 😎
@chris Leon said that Gram Parsons gave him that top hat, a green silk number. It wasn't until someone sat on it and he turned it over to punch it out to restore the shape, that he noticed a handwritten label inside reading, "Jolson/Jazz Singer." That hat oughta be in TWO non-existent museums. 👍
Tightrope baby.... Thanks for the memories I had forgotten about that album... I think it was called "Carney". Sorry I didn't stop to look up anything I'm just going off the "top of my head"....
