@lloyd-mecca all those HD cameras, the servo mechanized gear etc etc.....that`s astounding !!
It makes me very happy to announce ,that with the input from our newest posters,we have effectively doubled our participant base in just the first week !!!
This is a great idea. Always looking for a good movie. When I scratch my head I'll come back and post a few good ones that I've seen.
Gird yourselves for this one, a well-made movie, "The House of Sand and Fog." Ben Kingsley is just superb. Jennifer Connely turns in one of her better performances. However, I can't say it a typical triumph-of-the-human-spirit type move.

movies such as these seem like too much trouble to watch.....but you watch anyway.....and then you remember just how good movies can be
whenever I think of "....Sand and Fog", I invariably link it with "Death and the Maiden (1994)", a good companion piece for that cold rainy evening watch
@john-barry, I've grown quite fond of your recommendations. I'll watch this as soon as I get time. Thanks.

NEVER MISS ANOTHER MOVIE OF THE WEEK UPDATE
As of today this movie of the week thread now can be located through the TAB titled "MOVIEoftheWEEK"
If you enjoyed the Harrison Ford version of "Mosquito Coast",this one`s sure to be in your bailiwick.
My selection for week three "Movie of the Week" is a two-piece affair.."Fitzcarraldo 1982" and "Burden of Dreams 1982"
"The film (Fitzcarraldo) is derived from the historic events of Peruvian rubber baron Carlos Fitzcarrald and his real-life feat of transporting a disassembled steamboat over the Isthmus of Fitzcarrald."
"The film had a troubled production. Herzog forced his crew to manually haul the 320-ton steamship up a steep hill, leading to three injuries. The film's original star Jason Robards became sick halfway through filming, so Herzog hired Kinski, with whom he had previously clashed violently during production of Aguirre, the Wrath of God, Nosferatu the Vampyre and Woyzeck. Their fourth partnership fared no better, and an extra even offered to kill Kinski. Herzog reluctantly declined."
"Burden of Dreams is a 1982 "making-of" documentary film directed by Les Blank, shot during and about the chaotic production of Werner Herzog's 1982 film Fitzcarraldo, and filmed on location in the jungles of Peru."
Here's a good one, Arctic with Mads Mikkelsen.
good one John.....I enjoyed that one tremendously !!!
@john-barry, I'm becoming a fan of Mads. He was awesome in "Hannibal" and "Polar."

@jkuvakas I`m gonna keep "Hannibal" in mind (39 Eps!), but I`m gonna hop on "Polar" right quick
I fell asleep last night about halfway thru the Leave-it-to-Beaver / Bachelor Father perennial favorite,"The Trouble With Harry"
