It sure sounds and looks impressive and a supercharged V-8 would be fantastic under the hood, too !

MSRP for these 325+hp GTDs starts at $325K but no doubt actual selling prices will be higher. 😀 😎  The kicker is that Corvette will soon have a super 1,200hp version of their ZR1 to combat these 'Stangers.

Imagine telling '70's gearheads that one day there'll be factory-built Mustangs & Corvettes with combined horsepower ratings exceeding 2,200!  They would've taken you away in an all-white ambulance with soft interior walls!  🤐 🙄 😬

Imagine that! Yes, and imagine a day when a factory Mustang would be a serious contender at LeMans. I like what Ford is doing with the Mustang. I say, "Bring on more variants!" Some folks decry a four-door. Most purists are disgusted by the idea of a Mustang SUV. We heard the same thing from the traditional Porsche crowd, who flat-out opposed the Porsche SUV and the Panamera, claiming they would dilute the brand. That was quite a disaster, wasn't it? All that resulted in record sales, a financially healthier company, and better Porsche sports cars than ever before.

It's all but certain Ford will indeed make Millennials, Gen Z, and Alpha folks happy... a 4 door Mustang is coming, count on it!    It's certainly nothing I want (I'll be looking at the convertibles, right? ) .... but at age 60, Ford doesn't care about me nor most of the Gen X-ers.   😔 😔 😔

@chris Like many typical old farts, I still can't even come to terms with the Dodge Charger R/T as a 4-door sedan.  JK is quite right in his comments about those of us who decried the  changes re: the Cayenne and Panamera Porsches and the Mustang SUV, etc......but they still do nothing for me.  The Cadillac and Lincoln SUVs are about as far as my entrenched mind will allow.  I get it...it's a different generation and I respect that fact....it's all good.  Leave me to my fascination with the Vettes of old, pony and muscle cars and vintage cars from the 50s and 60s, where my heart lies; each to his own.....whatever brings joy.

Same here. My wife's vehicle is the only 4-door in the family, I have 2 door cars, including one of the last 2-dr Cadillacs.  Baby boomers dictated automotive trends for decades, but our time has now passed, like it or not.

The "kids"  want many doors, cup holders, USB ports and no buttons-only touch screens.  The method of power, overall style, and the "cool-ness factor"  are of little concern.

That's the reality of the situation, like it or not.  🙄 😯 🙄

Well stated - you & Jack. As a car guy my whole life, a four-door was an atrocity. An SUV, same deal - don't speak to me about convenience, if it was more than a two-door, two-seater, blah; not interested.

And even now, 2 3/4 years away from 80, I find myself gawking at sports cars and fun machines. OK, I have finally succumbed to the ease of use of an SUV but I still smile from ear to ear when I drive our SL with the top down.

I too have finally gotten a 2 door, Dodge Hemi Challenger and love it to death.  After 4 kids and 4 door cars, I am finally having fun.   And in S.C. we do not have inspection stations to monitor smog, so for me the mufflers came off and love the sound it makes everytime I get on the pedal.  Kids of today just do not appreciate the sound or the speed from a great V8.
