MY BARBER.
I asked my barber if he could cut my hair to short on one side, leave a bald patch on top and make it look ragged in the back.
He said no, I can't do that.
Why not? I asked,
"You did it the last time."
Sounds like the typical senior hair style.

I quit going to the barber shop years ago. I do it at home and have nobody to carp at if I make a mistake,
Funny why my haircuts cost more today than when I had hair.
@perrone1 I do the same Tony, I haven't been to a barber in about 30 years, I pretty much wear a military cut, wash it, run a towel over it and I'm done, lol. Just the way I like it. No bad hair days here.👌💯
Wow you guys are brave (as opposed to cheap 😉) for cutting your own hair. If I tried that I would for sure pierce an eardrum and lose at least one eye.

It's safe once you get used to cutting it and using two mirrors. I think it looks great:
My daughter has cut my hear ever since Covid. I look practically bald, once per month. I keep the beard trimmed.
I've felt anxiety looking forward to getting a haircut and feeling angry for a week or two after a haircut. It's an ongoing routine. It looks good for about two months and then BAM! I go to the Barber and I come out looking like they took shrub cutter to my head. During COVID I didn't get a haircut for 17 months, I looked shaggy, but I didn't look like I'd been butchered. My grandkids and daughters got on my get a haircut, I did and the misery is again the same now every two months. Often I've declared that God should never have given us head hair, we should have been a shiny chrome-dome race, then everyone is equal all the time. And it would have eliminated vanity.
