They were (are ) very nice cars - but simply couldn't compete with the giants of their time.     Fast forward 70 years, and now those same "giants"  find themselves losing market share just as Hudson did in the early '50's.    

Nothing lasts forever.  😞 😞

I recall watching several of these Hudsons at the stock car races in my teens.  Their 6 cylinder engines with the big "pots" did well  against the 8 cylinder competition and they had a sound all their own as they blew past the grandstands.  I found this pic of one that campaigned there; I remember it well; it was metallic blue and white and was a 4-door!  Sponsored by The 6 Mile Pub....a local after the races watering hole.
