Yesterday I asked a colleague of mine if there would be ice and snow in her country Morocco.
Well yes, she said.
As a matter of fact the whole region around Ifrane gets it fair share of snow each year...
Not what you'd expect, right ?
From a country in the northern part of Africa.
Below, two pictures from about the same region, yet different times of the year.

How beautiful!! Ifrane is at higher elevations than one would expect to encounter in most of arid Morocco. It is in the Middle Atlas Mountains and is known for Alpine type snow skiing.
Not what you'd expect when you're ready to watch, "Casablana".
