Top Ten Old Man Traits I’ve Noticed in Myself Lately (I am becoming my grandfather)

1. Reheating yesterday’s coffee, because who needs “fresh” when “microwaved” builds character?

2. Groaning when I stand up, not because I’m in pain, but because it’s tradition.

3. Complaining about gas prices, even though I still remember paying $1.19 per gallon like it was yesterday.

4. Suddenly caring deeply about weather forecasts, and then sharing them with anyone who will listen.

5. Keeping a flashlight in every room, you never know when there might be a blackout or you just want to feel prepared for something.

6. Saying “They don’t make ‘em like they used to”, about everything, from cars to toasters to music.

7. Giving unsolicited life advice, because I’ve “seen some things” and you need to hear it.

8. Saving random plastic containers, because they’re “perfectly good” and will definitely come in handy someday.

9. Falling asleep during movies, especially if I insisted on watching it in the first place.

10. Checking the thermostat obsessively, and muttering, “Who touched this?!” like it’s Fort Knox.

2: Groaning because I really AM in pain.

6:Yep; said about everything.

9: I am up every morning, come hell or high water, at 4 AM. Do my basement Gazelle and light weight regimen and by evening movietime i sometime nod off. Ok, Ok, near every night!

Good post my friend!!

@perrone1, I decided to add one more, "They just don't make Old Guy lists like they used to. Why, when I was a kid, ten best lists always had fifteen, and they were cheaper!"

Many apply to me. I remember gas prices for regular at 39.9 cents per gallon in 1969 and early 1970’s in Chicago.  I still use a Zenith transistor radio while eating breakfast to listen to news (780 AM). The radio is over 50 years old.

Please don't. They've already had too many calls on me. There was the gorilla incident and they'll never forget the baboons. It took them a week to gather them all.

John, those are ALL great!  But I didn't think anyone was complaining about gas prices (for those who still buy gasoline ).   This pic was taken about 10 days ago...

No, no.... this is a 100% REAL photo!   These ARE actual prices of gasoline in America as of January 6, 2025.   That's why I'm surprised people are complaining.  🤔 🤔

Assuming you don't drive an EV and need to buy gas, are you guys paying more?
