It would have been cool if we had served together Tony, it would have been nice to know you personally. Your display and especially your Colt are amazing. Beautiful and tasteful and #….01, dang! (But mine is still bigger!) PS… Don’t gig me on my jacket, it’s been hanging in my closet for 50 years.

Well, we DO know each other personally and I'm so glad we do! L O V E the shot!! Thank you! I had to grab a calculator - my uniform here has been in the closet for 58 years, since 1968. The .45 ACP in it is indeed #1. It is a Commencement Issue built for graduating students of The US Naval Academy and West Point US Army Cadets. It was kept in the Colt Mfg Co Museum and sold at auction 2008.

Your Government model is bigger all right but #1 has cousins, LOTS of cousins. Here are a few other .45 Colts:
