I was watching an old black & white Andy Griffith show the other night. Gomer got fired and was living at Andy's place. While there, people would drop by Andy's driveway to have their cars worked on by Gomer. Every car and truck was a Ford, no matter the age or condition, every car was a Ford. Â
This is a great post but it reminds me of how much I miss seeing those cars and others on the roads daily back in the 60s.
Me too, especially when you could tell every make and model on the road instead of everything looking the way it does today. You can't tell hardly one make or model from another.

That's what happens when the cars on the show are provided by the Ford Motor Company!

Lol ! Same with the '60s series "The FBI" with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and "Cannon" I believe...and there's gotta be others.Â
Most unusual for a TV series to have multiple brands provide vehicles for filming. I recall "The Adventures of Superman" series using Nash cars most of the time.
I recall in "Car 54" that Toody and Muldoone's patrol car was a 1961 Plymouth.
I recall one Gomer Pyle USMC show where Sgt. Carter's prized '60 Dodge had a wrecking ball dropped on it. Carter had entrusted its care to Gomer while he was away on leave and of course Gomer screwed up. Somehow this resulted in some real life bigwig from Chryco presenting Carter with a new Dodge.
