It does, though, Jack. I went through one when I lived in the Phoenix area. It's referred to as a "haboob," the name for these massive dust storms in Africa and India. They are no fun, believe me. I think there have been a few of them in recent years.

My google search indicates that this pic was taken by Daniel Bryant. The exact date was not given but the info said the pic was uploaded Jan. 18, 2019.

Happens several times a year during the Monsoon. Instead of rain we get wind that picks up sand and debris and relandscapes yards, uproots trees, somehow winds up inside your house. There are a lot of serious wrecks on I-10 between Phoenix and Tuscon where a dust storm like this has caused vision to be a few feet in front of a car.
In storms like that drivers need to pull off the highway as far as they can, without getting into trouble, turn off the lights and keep their foot off the brake. There is always one person who will watch your lights thinking you are moving and try to make it through. That's when the crashes start.
