Here is a beautiful Packard 4 -door sedan from perhaps the late 1930's. Back then color advertisements were not so common and a very nice artist's illustration was used many times in automobile ads. This would certainly sell me on a Packard !

Here, we see the big sedan parked high up on a hill overlooking the valley and towns below. The lilac tree gleams just above the couple as the gentleman points out the distant features to his girl.

I understand the Packard was found in that spot a day or so afterwards and later sold at auction a few years back for big bucks ...... but the man and his lovely date were never seen again ! Maybe it had something to do with that reddish light above the far hillside horizon or maybe something else in that picture is a bit unusual. Who knows ?

The Packard is very nice, however ..........

I've heard that story before. Rumor has it that this Packard was an experimental model powered by an engine with a 100 mpg carburetor. The man worked for Packard and borrowed the car to impress Zelda, his new acquaintance. While they were spooning on that overlook, certain representatives of the oil company came along and abducted them. While they were in the process of taking them, Vinnie, one of the abductors, was charged with commandeering the car. Vinne happened to look at the undercarriage of the car when he bent down to pick up the discarded keys. Noticing that the car had come equipped with whitewalls on both sides of the tire, he became intrigued by what other features the car may have. Apparently, he backed up a tad too far and met his well-deserved demise at the rocky bottom of the ravine that ran along the road. The Packard was left abandoned, then towed away and sold at auction, where still more oil company representatives snatched it up and destroyed it.

Zelda, it is said, was traumatized but escaped to Idaho and lived her life in seclusion and anonymity. She met Horace Musk, an entrepreneur and inventor. They named their son Elon who swore to get back at those companies for what they did to his mother.

I have it on good authority that Elon does not, and never has, owned a Packard.

Mike, it is my understanding that Harvey Grebelschnitz, the head of Packard marketing, traveled in time, saw one of your photos, stole it, and returned to his era to use your picture in their ad. If I were you, I'd file for reverse residuals.

Ok, I want to read that book, which no one does these days, or see the movie !!!

LA LA LAND needs script writers at this very moment so who's willing and fired up enough to pick up a pencil ?

Ok, a tablet will do... But it better be better than the one God gave to Moses...
