Here is a really nice print ad done highlighting the beautiful new 1942 DeSoto with a lucky small kid (and maybe big sister) having mom pick them up in a gorgeous red automobile on a rainy day. The text indicating a car may go 100,000 0r 200,000 miles and the final text urging Americans to "Back the Attack !" indicates this advertisement was done shortly after Pearl Harbor while some new cars were still available. As an adversary said, "I fear we have awoken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."

artistically inviting, very interesting and so multifaceted.......it`s a bit sad to see that such unbridled hope was mainstream at a time so far in the past
