Here is a picture of a GM dream car at the New York World's Fair building and exhibit in 1964.I probably saw this one as I went to the World's Fair with my parents and an older sister in that year. The color is really wonderful  and those tail-lights have a bit of Buick Riviera in them. And look at the awe in which those two kids look at this sensational automobile !

Concept vehicles are always fun to see, but usually pretty impractical, and by the time their "future styling features" make their way into production they are so watered down they are a mere shadow of the original concept. In this particular case I don't think GM styling ever got anywhere close to resembling this concept, although if you were desperate you might just argue that the protruding "beak" and the chromed vertical outer edge of the front bumper on '68 - '69 Pontiacs owe something to it.

Some aspects of the Stiletto , especially the tail, remind me vaguely of the Vauxhall SRV (Styling Research Vehicle) produced by GM's UK outpost - and no doubt heavily influenced by their Detroit masters to promote GM styling notions.

Here's an article about it.

1970 Vauxhall SRV

The car was nicely modelled in 1:43 by Pilen. They did it in the prototypical silver grey (but without the red accents or Vauxhall badging) and also in metallic brown, silver blue and a rather coarse-looking yellow.

Another GM concept car of that era with a similarly low, long-tailed look to it was the Chevrolet Astro I

Chevrolet Astra I (2)

Pilen modelled that one as well

Chevrolet Astro Pilen 1
Chevrolet Astro Pilen 2
astro pilen 3

and so did Corgi

Chevrolet Astra I Corgi (2)

They both reproduced the unusual entry/exit arrangements for driver and passenger

although Corgi managed to make the seats lift up when the top is opened, and Pilen didn't. But apart from that I'd say the Pilen is a rather tidier model.

..........

I think that could well be it, Tony ! It is a very attractive car and I think it is related to the "Century Cruiser" concept/dream car done by them sometime after this. Possibly some other GM concept cars were developed from this one, with Buick and Pontiac perhaps being involved.
