This one was easy! THE '56!
I think it could be suggested that the stylists were digesting some funny mushrooms in '57, because that years Imperial is off the charts odd looking.

I like them both, but voted 1956 because it's more elegant to me.

1956 although I'm really partial to the 55.
I'm going with the '57. The '56 is excellent, but in '57 the Imperial moved into a class by itself and continued there through the early 60s.

@jcarnutz, that's an interesting point. It made me go back and look again and I think you're right. It became its own model, not a dressed-up Chrysler. That being said, I really like the elegant and understated class of the '56. So, I haven't voted yet...I'm still pondering!

I had the same conundrum.

I like the roof line of the 56.

I like them both, but voted 1956 because it's more elegant to me.
I'm with you Ed !

I went with the '56. Both fine cars but the '56 exudes nostalgia while the '57 unwittingly says, "The Jetsons".
It's been said that Virgil Exner's favorite "Forward Look" design were the 1957 Imperials. 1956 Imperials are gorgeous but '57s are cut above.
1956 although I'm really partial to the 55.
My thoughts as well Bob.
The '57 is nice but it's the Gen I '55/'56 that gets my vote because of its elegant design.
