John, I am delighted to see this rare car exhibited here. I was lucky as a teenager to be able to drive a post war HRG in Ontario, Canada. Too expensive for me to own, I did the next best thing by buying a Singer SM1500 Roadster. Singer provided all HRG engine from 1938 onwards until their demise in 1956. Somewhat superior to the MGTD that I also owned briefly, the HRG had more pep and seemed to hold the road through curves better. Likewise, the Singer was more driver friendly.
I never saw the one off Airline Coupe. It is too bad that more were not made but I can see why the open car would have been more popular, and somewhat lighter.
