Frank, Cool...I do believe Elvis was the first to take delivery of a Stutz Blackhawk.
What scale is your model?

I remember those, back n the day. Cool choice John. Didn't realize the Elvis connection, thanks Frank.
A Pontiac by any other name.
This design always struck me as a car searching for its own identity......a jumble of assorted parts....it never clicked with me at all.
Jack, to me it looks like a car that a pimp would drive around to check on his stable. This design always struck me as a car searching for its own identity......a jumble of assorted parts....it never clicked with me at all.

extraordinary story. How about the roll call of celebrity owners? "The handbuilt Blackhawk received 18 to 22 hand-rubbed lacquer paint coats that took six weeks to apply. Total production time for each vehicle was over 1500 man-hours." And that interior! To me the story sorta overwhelms the design issues. Theres so much going on what does it matter what it looks like!
The last known photograph of Elvis was taken while he was entering Graceland driving his black Stutz Blackhawk. It was captured by one of his most adoring fans who Elvis knew by name.
Elvis was known for giving away cars (and MANY other presents - including homes ) to friends & family. To those closest to him, Elvis wanted them to sort of be like him... so he bought them black 1976 Pontiac Gand Prixs - because they resembled his Stutz Blackhawk.

Geoff, no question, the story outshines the design issues.extraordinary story. How about the roll call of celebrity owners?
