Here is the catalog for the 1961 DeSoto  which was the official last year of the DeSoto. One of the pictures shows the set-up and the gal models, as well as the car, at Chrysler Photographic studios.

Thanks, Tony ! This brochure on line but I do have 3 diecast replicas in 1/18 scale, a yellow over  black, a green over white  both 2 door hardtop coupes and a yellow convertible (an imagined "Adventurer", which was not officially made in 1961)

Thanks John ! When I was a kid, I picked up brochures for nearly every automobile I saw at the Chicago Automobile Show. I wish I still had all of them, lol !

I love the seeing the old brochures, and like Michael, I wish I’d have saved them. This particular automobile, in my opinion is so hideous that we have look even if you really don’t want to, kind of like when you are driving by a bad crash. The photo with Ronald McDonald is kind of cool though. Kudos to you Mike.

Thanks for the photos showing the final year of a famous (at least for folks of my age) American auto brand.

@kevins Kevin, I agree about the car looking hideous. I Actually liked the 60. Perhaps the designers didn't want us to miss the DeSoto after it was gone.

Originally, post-1961 DeSoto were supposed to be part of Chrysler's S-Series cars from their divisions.

I love the 'out there' design. Including the dash and steering wheel, thanks Mike

Thanks ! Definitely all the S-Series Chrysler Corporation automobiles would have been a big change for them as originally planned.
