Me too Rick. As my son is a Porsche owner he'd want me to do the right thing!
What does your boy have?

Definitely!. I do not fit in the a** dragging 2 seat sports cars. Put your arm out the windows and file your finger nails on the road. 6'2" and 240 lbs most of my life, hence my love of practical mid-size cars. American muscle cars of the 60's:
Coronet/Charger
Satellite
Fairlane/Torino
Comet/Montego
Chevelle/Malibu
LeMans/GTO
Cutless/442
Skylark/GS,GSS
Rebel
It's a 996 John. Not beloved by the purists as it's water cooled but..
it's a blast to drive and values of 996s have risen since Chris bought his. He figured that he would be able to afford to keep it for a few years and not lose money on it. I think his gamble paid off.
I've often said, and still say, that when my ship comes in, I'm buying the newest version of the 911. What I'm afraid of, though, is when my ship comes in, it'll be a garbage scow.
Yes, the excellence of the 996 was lost in criticism over headlight shapes and the air cooling.
