The XK120 & 140 are gorgeous cars; best of that decade IMO.

Porsche. The Jag is beautiful but on twisty mountain roads I’d go Porsche.

Jaguar for me, I don't have any twisty mountain roads near me. I'd have to drive to another state to find some.

Jaguar is an icon...but I like the Porsche too. Only thing is...

that E Type is a 1961 - 2 version. OK I'm nit-picking!

John, thanks for setting the record straight. That's what happens when I rely on Google.

Me being ultra pernickity John! It could just be '63. Interiors changed..

for '63 along with some mechanical bits but exterior was virtually the same. I shouldn't have said anything!

In the early '60s, on my way home from work, I would walk at least 10 extra blocks out of my way....

for the Subway station that was located near a Jaguar showroom. I would stand with my nose pressed against the glass and admire the E-type. BTW, I love the Porsche too.

The E Type every time. The Porshe looks prissy in my view by comparison

But of course it's not and the Porsche has endured to this day, while the Jaguar, in the form of the E Type, has not. Courses for horses, but I do prefer the E Type as a top-down roadster rather than a FHC as pictured here.

I recall the first XKE I ever saw like it was yesterday. I was outside a little country grocery store on my bicycle on a summer evening and this incredible metallic burgundy XKE roadster was parked there. I was gobsmacked with its incredible beauty. Moments later an older gentleman wearing a British cap left the store, jumped in and fired it up. He looked at me, nodded and smiled...no doubt recognizing an awestruck young boy/budding car addict..lol. He pulled away sharply and wound through the first 3 gears, up a half-mile straight, gradual hill and out of sight; exhaust resounding. I'm sure he did it for my benefit....God bless him! I was HOOKED on the car and love it just as much all these years later.
