While I was disappointed with the changes to Chevrolet in 1958, I do prefer it to the Ford of that year.  I believe that in 1958 at the Brussels World Fair in Belgium, Ford was awarded World's Best Automobile of the Year.

I like both cars very much throughout the 50s but IMO Chevy styling was nicer in '58.  Opposite for me in '57 and '59 though.

I love them both pretty much equally, can't pick today.

@david-green Actually that was the 1959.

Chevy for me. Like Jack said, the 1957 and 1959 Ford would have won over the Chevy, but to me the 1958 Ford was a mess.

That's so funny.  I think the '58 Ford was a a masterpiece in style and certainly much better than the '57.

This was a tough one for me to vote on.  I like both cars for '58 a lot.  But when push comes to shove, I voted for the CHEVY!  I'd take a '58 Ford though, in a heartbeat.  As I stated above in another post, I think its styling was a masterpiece.  Loved it!

Impala. in 1957 I thought Ford did a masterful job of styling then in 1958 they started messing it up IMO.

As I mentioned earlier, I did like the '58 Ford for sure but thought the boxier looking nose and the one-year only tail light design detracted somewhat compared to the 57 and 59 features.  I always loved the trademark single round Ford tail light done '52 thru '63, except '58 and '60.

It's a tie for me.  I really like 'em both.  I believe Elizabeth Taylor drove a Ford convertible just like this in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."
