Pontiac for sure.

This comparison is about as close as it gets for me as I love both cars. Back in the day I would have voted for Chevy but in recent years the design of the Pontiac has won me over; especially that beautiful split grille. I should add that the 2-tone color separation continuing onto the rear deck/upper fins of the Chevy was a feature I have always thought was very attractive and remember being blown away by the look even as a car loving 7 year old kid.
I really like the Pontiac. The Chevy is a good size though. 😎

'59 Chevy ugliest of the uglies, fits in with the '58 Olds/Buick/Edsel & '59 Caddy.
Like the '58 - '60, love the '61 - '64 Pontiac.

I like it Bruce but definitely see how it's tail end design can polarize opinion. Like you I tend to favor squarish car designs but for some reason this Impala (and the '60) doesn't strike me that way. Lol.
I went with the Chevy. I love the Pontiac, but that strange-looking kick-up in the rear quarter panel stands out far more than it does on the Chevy. To me, it makes the car look as if it is hunching its shoulders too high. I think that the gradual rise of the fins on the Bonneville works to over-emphasize the kick-up.
To my eye, the Pontiac is one design that benefits from skirts.

@jkuvakas I must say that I love the side trim of the Impala; it makes a huge visual difference. I see the skirts on both of these cars as a major detractor.
No doubt about it for me. I've said it before and I'll say it again the 59 Impala as my dad had a brand new one in white with that multi-hued blue interior. I loved that Impala. I remember that it was my dad's first new car. I was 6yo and hooked on cars already 👍

My first car was a '59 Impala 2-door HT, white with red interior. It was a "Bat-Mobile" for sure with those flat swept fins. I loved the car! HOWEVER, when up against the '59 PONTIAC, the Chevy takes 2nd place. I've always loved the General Mills line-up of cars, with the exception of the Cadillac. The Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Buick were just incredible beauty's.

Sorry! Give me skirts on both. They add to the sportiness of them. I've never understood why people want to look at tires. And on todays cars, that's all you see.

Pontiac for me although I wouldn't turn the Impala down either. I'd take my choice without skirts.

I'm very surprised that this seems to be a runaway Pontiac win; I thought it would be really close.
@jack-dodds I’ve always loved the very overdone Pontiac Cat bubble, but I don’t think the contest is limited by body style. If not, I would go with the Chev Camino, 348 with trips and a 4 way, make it midnight blue, thank you!
