Wow, I love both of these John, but I'm going with the Buick. One of my favorite Buicks of all time. 🤑

Not a four door guy, per se, but overall here, the New Yorker looks more cohesively designed.

The Buick is my second favorite after the amazing 1959, but I can't ignore that fantastic Chrysler.  Chrysler today.

It is very nearly a tie between these two but I slightly prefer the tail end and trim design of the Buick.  It seemed the proper design transition from the finned late 50s to the trimmer look of most '61 cars.

Today, I'm voting a rare TIE.  For eyes, there were only 3 cars in 1960 from the Big Three automakers, one from each, that I thought were drop-dead beautiful cars.

Obviously the CHRYSLER from Chrysler Corp., and then BUICK from General Motors, and the 3rd one was the MERCURY from Ford Motor Co.

Everything else for '60 was either really bland or didn't have that "get my attention" look.

'60 the only Buick I actually like. The '61 Buick is alright, you can keep the rest of the Buicks. Really don't care for the Chrysler rear treatment. Chrysler, the '62 is my favorite.

Buick today.

OMG!  You have to be in the minority on not liking "the Chrysler rear treatment".  Those boomerang taillights are lodged in to the most iconic fins of the fin era.  As for the '62, it looks completely naked without those fins.  As they say, to each their own.

I'm going with the Buick for two reasons.  First, the styling, and second because I was nearly gored by the bloody fin on a '60 Chrysler a friend's dad had.

@georgeschire George; I really liked the '55-'56 Chrysler design but not the "57-"58.  I liked the '59 and '60-61 but thought the huge fin era was pretty much done by then.  I'm one of those oddballs who LOVE the '62 rear end design; so much in fact that it and the '55 are my favorite Chryslers.  Like you say ...each to his own. Chrysler! One of my favorite years.  Although the Buick is eye catching and a bit toned down from the 59.

If I get to choose between the '59 Buick or the '60 Buick, I'll take the '59.  Not only do I like the exterior styling better, I love the dashboard way more than that of the '60.

@jack-dodds   I agree 100% Chrysler '55, '56, '62, 70 Hurst 300. I like them when they look like cars not with boomerang lights or toilet seats on the trunk.

Both are beautiful full-size automobiles from that year. Right now, the only example I have are a white and a black convertible 1960 Chrysler 300 in 1/18 scale from Yat-Ming. They are both really nice scale replicas of that year's Chryslers. I also have a 1959 Buick and three 1961 DeSotos in 1/18 form.
