Tough one John, really tough! I love both but am inclined to prefer the Riviera with exposed headlights so by a very slight margin I’ve chosen the Thunderbird. You’ve made it difficult for me to sleep tonight with that color on the Riviera so thanks alot 😴
What’s not to like about the Buick. Just looks so classy compared to the Thunderbird. Never liked that shape on the bird.
Two sumptuous and beautiful cars. Which one? For me, the Buick Riviera, no question.
Classic, personal luxury at its finest and iconic lines that one can remember in your mind automatically. Oh yeah; Riviera.
Both are sweet, but the Riv is iconic. It's the Riv this time.💯
They are both beautiful automobiles that would be a sensation to drive back in that day ! I have scale replicas of the 1966 Thunderbirds and the 1964 Buick Riviera.
Riviera for me too. The styling is so well done.

The Riviera is stunning; just a gorgeous design right through the 60s. The Thunderbird styling tanked big time for me after 1963. I owned a black '64 but didn't like the driving experience at all so didn't keep it long.
Riviera although the cockpit dash layout of the Thunderbird is one of my favorites in any car.
Not fond of either. Brand, I have always preferred Ford over Buick. I have no problem with the T-bird but the Riv is darn nice looking. I prefer the interior of the T-bird. I'll go against the grain here and vote T-bird.
For me today it has to be the Riviera. Thank you John for this interesting, continuing series. Finding new choices in Americana must be getting difficult.
Addendum here, while it was a tough choice last night and I love both I would still prefer to sit behind the wheel of the T-Bird inhaling the beauty of its masterfully designed dash / IP. The Riviera is no slouch either I might add !
Without hesitation, I vote for the RIVIERA! However, '65 is the last year I liked it. They stylists lost their minds for the latter part of the '60's.

George, that’s why I appreciate your opinions because I absolutely love the ‘66-67 Riviera design and practically worship the ground its design team walk on.
