To my eyes, Camaro was ruined with this body style.  So have to go with the MUSTANG!

The Mustang pleased many in that it had 3 body styles to choose from.

I think it was too 'bloated' in its '71 body style.

I was lucky enough to have, for a short time, a '70 Trans-Am.  And we all know that it was basically a twin to the Camaro. Even though those GM models were only available as coupes, I still love that body style.

And, sigh, wish I'd never have sold it.

Got to add though that one of my all-time fav Mustangs is the '69 Mach1.

To me, it's perfect !

Not the best looking year for either but the Mustang looks better.  Not sure what “look” Chevy was going for after 69.

Chevrolet Camaro please this time. By 1971 the Mustang was just getting too heavy, a long way from its 1964 roots.

I agree with David and much prefer the Z-28.  I still do like the Mach I version of the 71 Stang but that's about it.

Respectfully, we'll have to agree to disagree.

The Camaro is IMO one of the most beautiful postwar American cars (along with its Firebird cousin), and highly rated in contemporary tests: R&T named it one of the ten best in the world in its time. Even better is the split bumper RS. Of course it was ruined in the big bumper, low power years that followed.

The Mustang is way too big. Camaro wins.

I also think the Camaro is a beautiful design, I like it a lot. However the Mustang gets my vote. It is even better looking.

George, I have an opposing opinion....if it were a '69 Camaro and a '69 Mustang (preferably a Boss 429 body), I would have voted for the Ford.

I am not a big fan of the First gen Camaro styling, but a huge fan of the 2nd gen cars....and a big fan of the Boss 429 Mustangs, that were available in both 1969 and 1970.

Although I do like the 1971 Mustang styling, but I like the second gen Camaros a little better.
