I'm not a lover of either of these cars finding the proportions unsettling. They look back heavy today. I choose a tie here.

I have to go with the Thunderbird although I kind of like the Riviera also.

It was close as I like both.   But I went with the Buick as the T-bird just reminds me of the poor mans Mk IV.

I like both a little but give the edge to the Riviera.  The Tbird front bumper is a bit awkward for my taste.

What about the "awkward" looking rear side windows and the "boat tail" rear-end of the Riviera?

Hands down, the THUNDERBIRD!  Ten years earlier, the '63 Riviera vs. the '63 Thunderbird, it would have been the reverse.

@georgeschire I like the boat tail but you are right about the rear side windows.  I had a 73 cougar and liked it more than the bulkier Tbird.

The Thunderbird styling is much nicer IMHO.  I really disliked the Riviera by this point.

I'm going with the Riviera cuz I want to try to bake a pizza under that rear window in our SoCal heat. 😈

When these came out in ‘73 I owned a ‘70 Monte Carlo, I wouldn’t have traded it for either if these tanks, I voted no interest.

The Thunderbird. I think the Riviera is too large for a fastback/boattail look.

Riviera all the way- I logged a lot of miles in three of these. Loved every mile-LOVE the car.
