Not my favorite actor but admired his acting abilities. My favorite movies that he starred in, were The Sting and Jeremiah Johnson!.

R.I.P. Robert!

@jack-dodds ....yep!   It's always gratifying to see people thrive in their chosen professions but achieving success on their terms.   Redford was every bit a Hollywood star, who never disliked that town but, as he often said, "I just don't want to live there."

@chris I was impressed when he moved and created The Sundance Institute.

Robert Redford created the Sundance Institute in 1981, and from it grew the Sundance Film Festival and the media company Sundance TV. Redford founded the institute to discover and support new talent and independent films outside the mainstream Hollywood system.

For me, in no particular order, my favorite Redford films are:

The Natural

The Way we Were

The Sting

All the President's Men

Three Days of Condor

The Great Gatsby

Butch Cassidy....

The Candidate

Downhill Racer

Ordinary People (as Director )

Twilight Zone - Nothing in the Dark (he played Death, dressed as a Policeman )

@jack-dodds Yes indeed, all true.  He loved being a mentor to new talent - I think (??) he gave Bratd Pitt his first starring role.... among countless others.  By all accounts, Redford was a decent guy.  He will be missed.
