'55 DeSoto or Oldsmobile?

My choice is the Olds 98. I love the sculpted chrome paint breaks.

@pete-rovero The Oldsmobile with it's Autronic eye head light dimmer and Fiesta spinner wheel covers speaks fifties to me but the Desoto is a very close second.

I agree with above posters - though different in their choices. I could rack my brain all day and come up with both cars as the winner. For me, today, Tie.

My favorite DeSoto of its decade beats the lovely Olds by a slim margin. The DeSoto roof design and trim/color application are superb.

A no-brainer today! OLDSMOBILE
With the exception of Cadillac for '56, OLDSMOBILE beats out every car from the Big Three from '54 to '58.

Okay, I've got to be honest, today's votes overwhelmingly for the DeSoto is a huge surprise to me.
I like the DeSoto, but up against the forward looking and stylish Oldsmobile, the DeSoto even with its new for '55 styling looks dated to my eyes.
The vote for me would be a little tighter if it was a '56 DeSoto and a '56 Oldsmobile...but, the Oldsmobile would still edge the DeSoto out.
