Jerry Lee Lewis has left the building.

One of music's (Rock & Roll, Gospel and Country) most controversial figures. I believe 3 of his 7 wives were found dead, he drank, smoked, became an addict, a few of his children died young, so on and so on. It's hard to believe he made it to 87. Yet, through it all, he found ways to express his never-ending talent.
Absolutely amazing that he made it that far. I wonder if he gets a pass through the pearly gates or lives in great balls of fire for eternity.
What always comes to mind when I hear his name, that he married his 13-year-old cousin.

That is just wrong isn't it. Mind you, in fairness, she looked at least 14....and I think she was a second cousin.

Right, that's what most people think of, even folks who were born decades later. As you know, his career suffered as a result (at least in the late 1950's). For what it's worth, of the 7 wives he had I believe that marriage lasted the longest.

Hey...it's a love story, any way you look at it.
Jerry Lee Lewis was a real pioneer and could certainly tear it up ! Marrying his young cousin was actually legal at the time in that state with the parents permission, but few people, especially in Great Britain (where he was touring) understood that.
All of out rock and roll pioneers are now going away, but the music certainly lives on.

And then there's Jerry Lees other cousin Jimmy Swaggart......
