I do remember. Thanks David.
Yes David and I recall when gas was 23.9 a gallon back in the 1950s.

Growing up on Long Island, my Dad owned a Gulf station and during the early seventies, the price of regular gas was as low at 17.9 a gallon. Remember filling up my car for $3.
I remember too. I can remember, also, when gas was 21 cents a gallon and a Saturday movie and matinee was a quarter! A dime for Coke and 20 cents for a popcorn.
Cheeseburgers 30 cents. Oooooh the good ol' days!
A slice of pizza and a small Coke...25 cents.

I remember several price related things from 1960’s in Chicago.
Outfield seats (bleachers) at Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field for $2.00.
In September 1966 yearly tuition at IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology) was $1400 and at University of Illinois Chicago was $300.
I bought a 1967 Mustang in 1969 for $1675. Interesting that I still remember that number.
Price for regular gas was 39.9 cents per gallon in 1969.

....not me. This was "BC" - before Chris. 😉 The lowest gasoline prices I remember were c.$1.15 - $1.25 and cigarettes were c.60 cents.
in '72 I worked at a self-serve station in Westminster California. Prices were 35, 37 & 39¢ My sister, God Bless her, would bring me a home-cooked meal on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. ❤️
It is amazing ! Although I guess it is all relative, too, especially when you look up the average salary, tax rates, etc.
My Mom and Dad used to tell me what things cost during the Depression but also what people made in that time. I would like to have yesterday's prices with today's salaries, lol !
