I remember these kinds of ads from the dealers in the St. Louis area where I grew up. I also remember the neighbors who bought these kinds of cars. Great nostalgia. Thanks Galen.
@bob-jackman ...here's one that still hangs in my garage - where my '57 Dodge used to be parked. Make sure use ask for Chuck!
Great memory of those ads Galen. When I was a kid, I'd wait eagerly for the daily newspaper so that I could cut out the many car dealer ads that were in each edition. Then I would pretend I was a car salesman and play car dealer in our basement.

I was busy playing with my Lionel train set and little cars 👍 It was cold in the basement but who cares when you’re surrounded by all your favorite toys.

George, you may be the first person I've ever heard that played car dealer when they were a kid.
Yep! - And I thought I was nutty kid, dressing up in my robe, with the terrycloth belt around my neck - as a tie - while holding a plastic pipe - as a microphone - pretending to be a Game Show host. 🙄 😯 🙄
Those are great ads. I remember them from the 60's. I was also into my small cars. I once had all the original Hot Wheels from '68 and '69. Wish I had them back, lol. Oh yeah, plus my slot car track. Fond memories indeed.😊
I was playing with my little cars too. I had one or more of the Matchbox roadways; I'd put all my cars on it and play Traffic Jam.
I think it all started with my dad buying a Lionel train (which I still have 68 years later) and running it with me when I was old enough to know what it was. Then came the plasticville houses. I have a small collection of tootsie toys. But what really got me started on collecting was every time I went for a haircut I was able to buy one or two matchbox cars which I still have full sets (grey and regular wheels). Then for a badge for Boy Scouts I put together a photo album of car pictures. Hot wheels (redlines) came along and then I moved on to plastic models. I spent hours in the attic with those. I would always go with my dad to his uncles dealership when Our car needed repairs and check out what was on the lot. While reading a Parade magazine in high school, I found the ad for Danbury mint 57 Chevy and I was hooked. I finished university moved to the city and scaled up my Danbury and Franklin Mint 1/25 collection. The malls here in the city even had Franklin mint stores. When that all went away, I began with 1/43 diecast and resin.
