Two elegant and nicely styled cars. I'll take the Packard.

The Packard is more classy and elegant looking; the Lincoln is nice but looks less expensive; more in the Mercury/Ford price range.

I couldn't decide so I voted tie.  If I had to choose between the 1956 models it would be close, but I would go with the Lincoln, although I really like the '56 Packard a lot.

For me the Lincoln is just a little bit too plain   Jane looking so I went with the Packard for its sure audaciousness appearance..BTW.. is that even a word LOL?

All descriptors aside, especially 'luxury', and looking at car vs car; I have to vote Packard. And LOVE the paint theme!!

This is a most interesting "Which One?" today.  Two luxury cars from the same year, but from a styling perspective they seem to be from different era's.

The Packard is all new bumper to bumper and the color combo is bold and attractive.  It really looks like it wanted to prove it was still a standard in the automotive world.  I certainly would have been proud to have one back in the day and for sure even today too.

Moving over to the Lincoln, It's always boggled my mind how seemingly, Ford Motor Co. forgot to up date their top of the line car.  The '55 came in to the year still wearing the styling of the previous two years and didn't get the "in your face" makeover that its younger siblings Ford and Mercury received for '55.  This said though, I liked the previous two years of both Lincoln and Mercury, and this '55 version still grabs my attention.

The reason I said this "Which One?" is most interesting today is, because as much as I find both cars appealing, I can't vote a Tie, because they are both so different.  So after much thought and going back and forth with what I like about both cars, I decided to vote for the Lincoln.  Final reason being, it appears a little less bulky from a size stance and its got enough of the previous two years styling that I like and would have voted for those previous two years over the Packard.

Give me the keys to the Lincoln!

My exact thoughts on the '55 Lincoln too George....but boy did FOMOCO ever redeem themselves in '56!

You've got that right Jack.  For '56 Lincoln was an artistic design for the ages.

Packard please, it just looks better. Looks more modern, lower & wider.  May not actually be lower & wider, but gives that appearance.
