Unfurtunately I was trained in Imperial English spelling. This doesn't work for me at all.

My words of advice has always been, "Touch a hot stove a first time and burn your hand and it's an accident.  Touch a hot stove a second time and burn your hand and you're stupid".  It's hard to feel sympathy for people that repeat the same actions and not learning from them.
