Sad end for a museum,

March 21 at 8:35 PM
Sad end of the museum " one of the biggest nightmares of Brazilian antigomobilismo fans came true in 2009: the precious collection of old cars from the of museum of technology in canoes, in Rio Grande do sul, ended up cut up and Taken for auction. An agreement between the evangelical church of S?o Paulo (Celsp), Maintainer of ulbra at the time, the national farm and federal justice sealed the fate of the fantastic gaucho museum. Even before the first auction, general motors had already collected 70 vehicles that gave in to the university on a loan basis. It was the beginning of the end Yes, debts of over $ 1 billion left by the clumsy previous direction of the university had to be paid. Tributes had to be collected from the public coffers. Teachers had to get paid. Students couldn't be without classes. But the fatiamento of the acquis museum collection was another brutal demonstration of the neglect of Brazilian society towards a heritage of great historical and cultural value. The Jewels on wheels that could be democratically admired by everyone are today kept at seven keys in private garage and are sold by half a dozen privileged who were able to pay, for example $ 250 for a rolls Royce Limousine 1956-one One of the most flashy pieces in the
With a collection of more than 270 classic vehicles built from 1904 (not counting so many in their restoration workshops), installed in a beautiful steel and glass building on the canoes campus, the Museum of ulbra was considered by experts one of the top ten of its kind in the world. It was certainly the best in Latin America. A Heritage of the world automotive industry. Couldn't have been held responsible for the crisis that shook the university I didn't even deserve to be cut up for The University and its former managers had more valuable real estate, and the amount established with the auctions was a small part of the debt "

Do you see in the last picture, in front of that double Decker bus?

It looks like a car from another planet. Or maybe it's a sun powered racer of some kind. Gee willickers! As I look again I think it is mounted on that fifties Cadillac Flower car. What is it?

South American-style funeral car. I have seen images of similar cars from Argentina and other countries.
