Every single time I go to comment on a post I MUST sign in and go through some photo test such as "Pick the tractors" in the photos,
to prove that I am "Not a Robot" Frankly I am sick & tired of doing this as is many others I am sure. This needs to be fixed or I am finished with this website.
Another thing that bothers me is when you click on an item of interest, you must scroll up through several posts to get to the item you wanted to view,
to me that is backwards, I believe the post that you click on should be the first thing you see. Because of this I no longer view any posts available here.
The only post that I view daily is in the Lounge section titled "Poll: Which 'XX"?, by John Bono.
I have been a contributing member since the mid 1990's, I have also donated generously every time that the D4C had a fundraising drive.
I sincerely hope that this problem can be fixed or I am gone forever, this is not a threat but a promise.

I concur. Lately, I have had to click at least 7 times to verify. It is completely unnecessary for this site. I am here less for this very reason.
My IT contacts advise me this can be remove/deactivated. NONE of the other collector sites I frequent use this system.
Why does this site fail to respond to the users issues?
The problem with signing in repeatedly is really strange! I have had none of the described issues myself. I use CHROME if that helps explain anything....I'm not sure.
I only get the captcha rubbish when I use Firefox. I've found with Chrome it only very rarely comes up. I need to login again after shutting the computer down, however on my Android tablet I remain logged in continuously.
You guys ought to try and deal with my superfund website. Click the traffic lights all the time and most annoying are the SMS messages wanting the code just sent to me. All this on a multi billion dollar fund site on which no transactions can be done. It only allows a member to view their balance. I've complained and of course all we get is its for your security rubbish.
I am still having the same annoying problem at regular intervals.
I had the idea that maybe when I have a browser update or Windows update that is somehow de-activating my link to the website, but in fact even without any computer updates it happens every week or so, even though I have checked the "remember me" box wen signing in.
I agree that this reCapcha business is unnecessary for an informal site like this, where a "robot" is not going to come in and steal confidential information, and I believe cadillaclloyd is right in saying this is a function that can easily be disabled by the site administrator(s) and I don't know why they are reluctant (or unable) to do so.
Several months in, the number of Forum contributors still looks distinctly "thinner" than it used to, and I can imagine quite a few people have either given up in despair or are signing in less often than before because access seems too much of a hassle. Shame, and I think it could be easily fixed.

Sorry, gents. I know signing in can be frustrating. But, we have to keep in mind a few things.
- The extra security keeps the spammers and porno peddlers out, most of whom use robots to troll sites
- We brought the forums on first in an effort to maintain the community. But this site was never intended to be exclusively for the forums. Neither was the last site. Once the auctions come up and we get linked to the Legacy site, some folks will have to provide credit cards, addresses, etc. Those folks need the added security. While there will be no charge to participate in the Forums, the link to the auctions and sales is necessary to help fund the site.
- Most browsers will allow you to remain logged in. I use Chrome and have not had to log in for several months. Some may have to log in again when you change devices. I'm not saying you're not having the problem. However, I am saying that not everyone has to log in every time they use the site. So, that is not a feature that originates in this end.
- Everyone here is valued. But we're not willing to compromise the security we will sorely need in the near future. I'm hoping we can all understand this.

It's still just a little mystifying why some people are signing in and being remembered from then on, and others are being "forgotten" by the site at regular intervals. But there we are. One of those quirks of IT.

I rarely have to login [Chrome], but every now and then it makes me log in every time but that only last a day and back to not having to login for days. I don't know what is causing this abnormality but as long as it is only for a day once in a while, just a small pain in the fingers.
I have the "Remember Me" box checked, and I rarely have to sign in. Occasionally on the laptop, never on the phone. But always when I link in from an email notifying me I've been mentioned, so I don't go in that way.

I am clearly not a tech savvy person but many browsers have preferences. Some ask if you want to sign out each time you leave a site. I believe some allow you to stay signed in for a limited period. These options are usually found under "Preferences". When I clear cookies and browsing history in Chrome I then have to sign in on my next visit. As far as opening to the last post in a thread that does seem odd especially when there is a link(?) to the last post above the first post in a thread. I liked the old site because when you opened to a Forum, you could see every post under every topic in outline form. Very easy for me to follow. More important than seeing the latest post first. But that's just me.

Concur with the security concern...we’ll just have to get used to it...

Allan, People adding posts would have little incentive to do so if each time they wrote a feature and added images, that post got buried at the end of the pile.
The latest and newest addition in a topic coming up first, is to me, one of the great features of this new website. It certainly gives me incentive to write.

Brian; are you able to use CHROME in order to visit this site? Maybe that might work??? I would sure hate to see you leave over all of this; although I am sure you must be very exasperated.
