A couple of points :

Many very "high-security" websites do NOT require reCAPTCHAs to log in. This feature appears to cause the most problems. It seems ridiculous to present correct answers and then get required to answer more of them (sometimes many more) after that. Again, since good AI can circumvent this anyway, it's not really effective. And a nefarious person can get in by signing up and solving the rC's for real.

Having to use a particular browser like "Chrome" (which I don't and will not use) is a non-solution and unacceptable. As is "staying logged in". I don't use a phone to get here, I use real desktop and laptop computers.

Just a couple of personal thoughts, too : I'd like to see the dates for the posts done in month/day/year style, as is typical for U.S. notations and forums. And adding multiple attributed quotes in a reply is not intuitive and can cause one to erase the initial quote and substitute the next on chosen if you want to individually answer each one.

@mikedetorrice  Mike....I am not at all computer savvy please understand; but why are you so against using Chrome if it may help resolve the issue at hand?

I concur. Lately, I have had to click at least 7 times to verify. It is completely unnecessary for this site. I am here less for this very reason.

My IT contacts advise me this can be remove/deactivated. NONE of the other collector sites I frequent use this system.

Why does this site fail to respond to the users issues?

I agree signing in all of the time is a real pain. I miss the old site. I used it every day as a reference when starting my Mints Corvette collection six years ago! Now I can't even do that and I am listed as a new member!

I don't claim to be a IT professional, so all I can do is offer my experience so far with the new site. It took me a little while longer than some other members to figure out first how to log in to the new site. Once I got that and created my new password and username it's been pretty easy for me. I use Edge as my browser and yes I check the "Remember Me" box on the occasions that I do have to log back into the site. so far I've been able to stay logged in for weeks at a time without having to log back in and take the recapcha picture test. When I do have to do that the most amount of "challenges" I've had to respond to has probably been two and then I'm logged on. I turn my laptop off after I'm done work each day and if I'm using it later I turn it back on and don't have to log back in to the site I'd say at least 95% of the time. As far as setting "preferences" for my browser I guess I could stumble around and maybe get it right or I just call my son who is an IT professional (both Windows and IOS for Apple products) and ask him to walk me through it. I never included photos in my posts on the old site and find it very easy to add them to the new one which is a feature that I really like. I hope the folks who are frustrated by the log in procedure can find a solution other than simply leaving the site.

@mikedetorrice  Mike....I am not at all computer savvy please understand; but why are you so against using Chrome if it may help resolve the issue at hand?

(1) Generally because I have three browsers that I use now and I will not install another one or any software just to use this site easily.

(2) I tried Chrome when it was first released and didn't like it at all. Since then, it appears to have become even more unacceptable to me.

(3) Chrome is invasive and it's from Google. No more needs to be said.

(4) In any case, doing a rC, even for the first time, shouldn't call for one to do it multiple times after getting one correct.

(5) There seems no particular rhyme or reason behind the rCs. I have done from 1 to 11, with perhaps 3 to 5 about typical.

(6) The rC pictures are debatable sometimes as to meaning. Is that blurry yellow vehicle in the distance a taxi ? Is that a line of trees in the distance or a hill ? Is there a fire hydrant on the cluttered far side of the street or not ?

(7) On one occasion, having pictures including motorcycles, it insisted I must click on a picture of a powered moped in order to have correctly chosen all the bicycles.

(8) None of the rC issues would be solved by a different browser, unless somehow things are set secretly to favor certain software.

I use Chrome and most of the time I dont need to play the much dispised CAPTCHA game. When I do, its a royal pain.

Interestingly and sadly, reCAPTCHA is owned by Google. Imagine that.
