Every time I see that first trend, pants below the butt, it makes me crazy. I can't help but wonder how anything so totally stupid got started!!
Then I look back over more than 60 years of my life and wonder the same thing. I went to public school as I first started my education. Then I went into private school for a few years and had to wear a suit. I went to four years of private high school and had to wear a suit. College - suit. Started work in the insurance industry for 45 more years - suit, until retired.
All that time I had to wear a TIE. Someone please tell me the purpose of a $%^& TIE !!!
Tony,
An open collar is an admission of failure, a slovenly collapse into apathetic barbarism that tells everyone who sees you that in matters of women, career, life, and fashion itself there is a point at which you will simply quit .
Being without a tie tells everyone-- that instead of caring you will try to convince the civilized world that your half-naked mess is probably fine.
On the other hand, its only purpose is to cover up shirt buttons, constrict airflow, and be a convenience to muggers, providing them with a built-in strangling device

I thought it was common knowledge that a tie’s purpose was to sell more tie clips! This helped to convince men that you weren’t fully dressed / decked out like your GF / wife was. Why go as far as a nice pair of cufflinks when you can wear a nice “gold or platinum chain” around your neck or wrist. No thanks, I wore a noose round my neck for 7 years and I’m glad she got “the itch” before we said “I do”. Ok, sorry, what was the question…😂
A few years back we had a carjacker in Dayton that was dressed like the before. He crashed the car, tried to get out and run. His pants fell down and he hit the ground, with a handful of cops piling on him, lol. He got exactly what was coming to him.😂🤣💯
Tony, seen that many times in SoCal with all the car chases. The news copters usually follow so it’s a hoot to see the pants drop or the flip-flops fall off 😂 These people must have the mental acuity of a rock or am I giving the rock too much credit ?

Oh boy talk about articulating exactly what I was thinking Tony. At least we know it will move on like all the others.
PS beautifully put Steve:

What a great accumulation of tie knowledge. One thing for sure - I was always easy to buy for; Christmas, birthday, anniversaries - a tie! JUST what I wanted; how'd you know?
Speaking of dress codes, nothing is more disrespectful than "mourners" attending a wake or a funeral wearing, tee-shirts, jeans and flip-flops.
