good stuff, thanks John, Esval make a great version of this in all 3 scales, 1/43, 1/24, 1/18. While I'm still hunting for this Capone version I have the red 1/24 version of the same car. It is a favorite.

I recall seeing a doco recently where Roosevelt rode in one of Capones bullet proof cars to address Congress after Pearl Harbour?

That Capone! I gotta tell ya  -  I never trusted him. But I liked his cars! (Great choice John!)

Geoff he would have been released from Alcatraz just three weeks earlier and had maybe gone through his carpool deciding what was worth keeping (😀) plus, the authorities and staff were likely on high alert at that time and wanted trustworthy bullet-proofing (😀).

On the same theme, following the burning of S.S. Normandie in New York harbour, February 9 '42 which was widely believed to be arson, given the Italian mafia controlled the waterfront.  The U.S. Navy Department used Meyer Lansky as an intermediary to negotiate Charlie 'Lucky' Luciano's release from prison (and later commutation of sentence and deportation to Italy) in return for assurances that there would be no more sabotage on docks controlled by the mob and intelligence regarding German and Italian agents would be shared. Interesting........?
