In 1999 when the bank I worked for was sold to another bank, all of the existing managers/supervisors were let go. I was one of them. Not being able to consider retirement yet, I wound up taking a management position with the banking worlds enemy, the credit union.
After spending 8 years at the credit union, I decided in 2008 to retire, and I did. Going through some boxes over this weekend, I came across some columns I wrote for the CU. Reading them again, I find that the advice offered in them is still valid today. So, I'm sharing them.
