there are some great metaphors in here. Very clever stuff.
I, personally, wouldn't pay $1 for one. 👎
Talk about a flashback! My companies moved me all over. In 1989 they moved me from Texas to Tennessee. i (thought) I wanted a 4X4, small extra vehicle for running errands and immediately bought a brand new 1989 Suzuki Sidekick. A hardtop coupe in red. It was nice enough, auto trans, air conditioning and four wheel drive. I kept it all of about 3 months and sold it or traded it - way too small, WAY under powered! Looked like this:

In the early '90's, my brother-in-law bought two of these (new ), for himself & his wife. ALL OF US (the rest of the family ) teased him mercilessly. Both were pieces of ****. Within 2 years he offed both on a deal for a new Chevy truck.
Geoff, that is one of the most negative articles that I have ever read about a vehicle. Some truth but I did know several people who owned these without major mechanical issues. Admittedly, they were mainly used a second vehicles in rural Ontario. I would not have bought one.

There's always exceptions (with everything in life ). Practically everyone I've ever met who owned T-Top cars all complained about leaks. I've owned a few cars with T-Tops... I NEVER, not once, had any issues.
😏 🤔 🤨
I recall going to very many accidents involving the early Suzukis and Trackers; they would flip onto their sides so easily it was ridiculous.

I owned an '85 Z-28 Camaro with the T-top, which was a great ride but.... it leaked....which is why I traded it in.

This I recall.
