Every now and then, there are manufacturers that refuse to take things for granted.

Mostly they are new in a field or decide to raise the stakes in a field they know.

I have three of them in my collection.

One being the Danbury Mint 1:12-scale Cadillac V-16 Roadster.

Made by Danbury Mint, IMHO it shows of what DB could really do at that time.

It is a truly work of art, with one imperfection being the tires.

They expand to the point where they form a gap between the white and the black.

Here it is, picture from the internet.

The other one is the Exoto Ford 999.

Also a truly piece of extreme craftmanship.

Until now I have found no flaws.

Here it is, with a picture from the net.

And last but certainly not least, the 1:6-scale 1957 Corvette made by Highway 61.

Picture from my collection.

Three models that show us what manufacturers can do, once they decide to raise the stakes.

Tell me, what models do you have that would add to the list ?

I received that Danbury Mint 1:12-scale Cadillac V-16 Roadster for review and photos. It was rare and unusual in that I had to return it. All other models from Mints of makers, I was permitted to keep. It very well may have been the finest model I have ever reviewed.

I would add the DM 1/12 scale 57 Chevrolet convertible to that list. The working turn signals, brake lights, high/low beams and courtesy lights make a mighty big statement plus the folding convertible.

Yes; a masterpiece! DM also did a 56 and 57 Corvette and this Street Machine version as well.

I have this one....  it's the ONLY 1/18 I've seen in which the crank, the connecting rods AND pistons move (via the supplied scale handle ).   You can actually "turn this 1/18 engine over."       Now that's "extreme craftmanship."     😏

@perrone1 Have both the Ford 999 and the Cadillac. Both are outstanding in their details.
