or later in a style that appears to be early to mid-50's. The apparent craftsmanship makes me believe it may have been done in a higher-level shop. But, given the body height, it looks fat and stubby, as found, and I've taken a few cuts at giving the car better proportions.
As found:
Sectioned in the upper fender area, deleted the spotlight and generally cleaned and smoothed the paint and bodywork:
Sectioned a bit more, decreased the wheel/tire size and moved the front wheel house back, in the fender. Slimmed the fender skirt:
Lowered, lightly chopped, further slimmed the fender skirt:
I actually did more than a dozen edits in an attempt to improve the dark shadow on the lower door, rear fender and skirt and decided to put no more time into this car. I'm still not satisfied but am not willing to do any more paint blending.
Which edit do you find most appealing?
Enjoy!
The most appealing to me is the second photo - sectioned upper fenders, spotlightectomy. Clean and sharp! I also like the as 'found'.
It always amazes me the skills you have in doing these alterations when I don't even know how to post pictures. I enjoy looking at your changes.
Pic #2 appeals to me the most. Thanks Terry.
"As found" but I do appreciate your level of skill and effort.

I agree. I would amend my choices slightly - I still prefer and appreciate your 2nd photo, the first edit. This latest edit is a strong & close 2nd choice while the as found is now third. Excellent work!It looks a bit sleeker and is an improvement IMHO Terry.
I liked the 2nd picture, only because it was lowered to the ground which makes it sit better.
