BLUE BLOODS! From season 1 in 2010 to the present, no debate that this series is above and beyond everything and anything that has been on since. Friday nights on CBS, is MUST SEE TV for BLUE BLOODS!

I also like the show, and have been watching it for many years. Living in Chicago area, I also like Chicago PD and Chicago Fire. The other NBC show on Wednesday is Chicago Med. It is OK, but not always a good show to watch while eating dinner.

I have to go with Blue Bloods which continues to entertain me and manages to be thought provoking.

For me, it's the family ties and family meals that always bring forth great messages. Family is no longer emphasized in our world, and in fact society has all but destroyed the very definition of family. So the family values that are instilled in Blue Bloods is refreshing.

Blue Bloods for me,enjoy the family aspect!
We need to get back to traditional "mom and dad" families. I'm afraid that will never happen.

I have to agree…I’ve learned that anything on “network” TV is just too formulaic & extremely predictable. I find no value in subjecting myself to such things. Like Patrick Swayze said in Road House - “opinions vary”…

Hmmm...seems to me that TV shows have always been "extremely predictable". The good guys always win. The guy always gets the girl. All the issues dealt with during the show are fixed and everyone "lives happily ever-after". TV I've always felt, is all about escaping. A place where we can put our brain and the trials we're dealing with on hold for a few hours. LOL, except when you watch the news (which there is way too much of on TV), you want get out of your chair and run in to the street in front of on-coming traffic.

I can agree with the “escaping”, but the mundane repetition you describe is exactly what I despise…similar to sitcoms that all have a laugh-track so that we’ll all know when it’s appropriate to laugh…that’s exactly what I don’t want - I laugh when it’s funny & only I can determine what’s funny (for me)…no laugh track for me.

Terry, we agree on laugh-tracks in sit-coms. They actually make me angry, and most of the time I won't watch a show because of them. That said, let's be honest and fair, very few of what is in today's sit-coms is even close to funny. They are filled with raunchy talk that we're supposed to think is funny.

Concur - I haven’t watched a sitcom in decades…I absolutely refuse to…

It's true, a lot of TV shows follow a familiar pattern where everything wraps up neatly by the end of the episode or season. But hey, there's something comforting about that predictability sometimes, right? It's like a warm blanket on a chilly night. But hey, if you're itching for something a bit more gritty and unpredictable, I hear you. Have you checked out some of the crime dramas lately? There's this one I stumbled upon recently that really shook things up for me. Trust me, it's anything but predictable. Have you been keeping up with whats playing in theaters? There's nothing like catching a good movie to really transport you to another world for a couple of hours. So, what's been on your watchlist lately?
I'm a sucker for "Law and Order SVU" . It's been on for years but never fails to grab my attention especially when the network runs the series for 4-5hrs non-stop. Benson is a K.O.

In past years I used to watch Seinfeld and The Office and loved them both. I found most of the other TV offerings in recent years boring or on the crude side, or in the case of reality tv, inane....plus the endless and repetitive commercials drove me absolutely nuts. The tv media is no longer objective and I find that aspect a disgrace. I watch METV occasionally still and some sports but other than that nothing on network TV.
