My collection is all over, from 30's hot rods up to modern cars. My main focus is muscle/pony cars, then 50's models.😊
My collection is mostly American 1950s and was hoping for more from the 1960s (non-muscle) but we all know what happened to the Mints before that happened. I mostly display by auto brands with the largest single group being T-Birds followed by Cadillacs and Lincolns. Lots of Chevies as well that I display grouped together.
@abaucom About an hour after stating in my reply that I had pretty much all of the models that I wanted I saw one on eBay that I didn’t realize I wanted. I think I need more therapy!
…or not. I have always loved Nomads, don’t have one in my collection, is new in box, very reasonably priced, and will look amazing with my red ‘57 Sport Coupe…so I bought it.
My collection consists of a number of 1940s, 1950s, 60, and 70s cars mixed with about 10 1930s. They are in 1/64, 1/43, 1/24 and maybe 10 1/18th. Not counting matchbox collections. But majority are 1950s.
I'll just stand over here, by the punch bowl, with my early to mid 20th Century 1:43 British and European models.
@kevins I also thought I was pretty much done and had not bought anything new for years. However, I did pick up a few additional DM models last year and now I am done with collecting any of the older DM or FM models. Perhaps in the future there will be some new 1:24 scale resin models, quality resin models I don't already have.
Many years ago I did add two DM Nomads to my collection, both my good friend and diecast master in Canada modified for me. Many of you would know his name, but I don't name names because he modified a number of my models just out of friendship. One was the DM coral 1955 Nomad that was lowered because I thought the ride height was too tall and the stance modification made a big difference. The second is really special to me not only because it was modified by my friend but because the changes made a world of difference to the model. That model is the DM blue Corvette Nomad that was issued as a custom. A few of the modifications he made to my model made it look more like the original period dream car. Wire headlight covers, wide whitewall tires & stock hubcaps, etc. Its beautiful but sorry you are just going to have to envision. I have not posted pictures on the Net for a decade since I stopped using a photo sharing site. Perhaps when I have more time I will look into how to post jpeg pictures from my personal files.
May I ask what 'DM' and 'FM' signify? I assume they are model makers.
@kevins You know, if I had had my brain turned on I might have figured that out, by now. Thanks for the tip.
