While reviewing my model photos I came across these photos of a 1958 Continental Mark III, a 1959 Continental Mark IV and a 1960 Continental Mark V. All three are convertibles and in red. They were taken at 2014 Lincoln Heritage Museum Dedication.

After I found these, I went through my files and found a few more cars from the same three years.

Wow, there's quite a few acres of sheet metal there. Thanks for sharing your great pics with us.

Not one of my fave car designs....but the '60 is much better looking than the '58.

Nice ones ! The giant Lincoln was an unmistakable and luxurious ride and I believe was the Wixom body plant's largest unit-body automobile at the time. In any case, it is beautiful and I have several of the SunStar Platinum Edition 1/18 diecasts and they are favorites.

1959 - one of my favourites. I never understood it until I got a model and could see the whole thing as a piece.  Though I agree with Jack the '58 is not the prettiest, for me '59's front bumper mouldings beat the return of the Dagmars.

I always wanted to see someone match the 1958 front scalloped fender to the rear. Now THAT would be wild.

There's no doubt Lincoln designers were heart-broken that their "babies"  didn't fare better.  I've always loved the 1958's ...which were just as "ostentatious"  as ANY '58 GM offering while being radically different.   It's remarkable that in one year ('60 - '61 ) Lincoln would go from being loathed to loved, what a turn-around.  😀

Except for the Premiere model, I love them all.

I absolutely love these huge beauties, especially the Continentals with their breezeway rear windows.

Great photos of an interesting era, John.

You know how when you look at a word repeated over and over, it starts not to make any sense? That's how I felt looking at the sequence of photos. Smile

OMG! I forgot that Bob - you're right. I used to be a faithful watcher of Bitchin' Rides and the antics of Dave and Kevin. They made some phenomenal cars. Here's that Maybellene:

Bob, I wanted to cry when they destroyed a perfectly good Continental to create IMO an abomination.

They even misnamed it..."Maybelline" is reserved for Cadillacs only.
