For years my job required my being in NYC a few day each month. When I needed a cab I would always try to hail a Checker because they were so roomy.

Bob, so true. They were virtually bulletproof too. The offerings from the Big Three could not hold a candle to the Checker.

That's a very cool Checker cab replica ! I think Automodello did a 1930's edition with the great Art Deco front and scenic rear seating area in 1/43.
