!958, you are 25 years old and you just came into some money and decided to buy a new [American] car for your everyday uses, what would be your top three choices be, in the order of the most desired.

My picks:

Dodge

58 Dodge Royal Lancer (3)

Thunderbird

58 Thunderbird (1)

Ford

58 Fairlane

PS;  luxury cars were not everyday drivers to me, two seaters were totally impractical in my life [other wise the '55 & '57 Thunderbirds as well as the '57 Caddy & '56 Lincoln Premier would have been on my list].

If they would be everyday driver's for you definitely put them down, just explaining how I choose my picks,

They are all beautiful ! My Dad had a 1958 Impala and one neighbor had a 1958 Pontiac while another neighbor had a 1958 Oldsmobile.

I like Jack's picks too but I think my first choice would be the Ford. I love the T-Bird but too impractical for me.

To be honest, there weren't many cars of that year I liked.    The Corvette or Thunderbird if I could afford one. Just keep my 1957 and wait till 1959.

@sizedoesmatter GM sure offered some fantastic looking color combos for the '58 Pontiac.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Yes that metallic green is one color that pictures can't do justice....another is my last pic...the 2-tone blue metallic, which is gorgeous up close.

@jack-dodds that two-tone blue is probably the nicest combo I've ever seen on a '58.

@jack-dodds Jack, back in the day I had a buddy who had a '58 Bonneville 2dr ht. His was silver with a white spear...that car was DDG. 60 plus year latter we still talk about it.

This is the closest example I could find John...
