1973, you are 25 years old and you just came into some money and decided to buy a new car for your everyday uses, what would be your top three choices in the order of the most desired.

PS; [American] has been removed,

I don't have any picks this year, BAA HUMBUG!

But I bought English, my first registered motorcycle

Triumph 500cc twin Trophy Trail

1 73 Trophy Trail TR5T 500cc (2)
1 73 Trophy Trail TR5T 500cc (1)

Big & fast enough for road riding and capable enough for off road.

Well I wasn't 25 in '73, I was 26. And although I LOVE your Triumph, I only had a Honda 250 dirt/street bike. But since, as you say, I came into some money, I used it all for this non-American Beauty. And glad I did because I've always wanted this little tid bit - 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider:

In 1973 I bought a new Cutlass Supreme coupe with every possible option available at the time. It was an excellent car which I kept for six years. In 1979 I changed jobs and needed a bigger car for a road car to carry samples and sold the Cutlass to my brother who never took care of a car in his life. The heartbreak was that he begged me to sell him the mint condition car with the promise that he would take care of it...long story short, he didn't and every time I would see the car it would almost make me cry.

From the everyday man category:

Pretty slim pickings in this category for 1973.  IMO all GM offerings were spoiled by their roof styles and Chryco were far less attractive than previous years.  The malaise era begins in '73 in for me and is full on in '74.

My younger brother had a 73 Chevelle SS  in black I'd buy new, or a Trans AM, or a Torino Sport.
